Fake it till you make it or natural skills?

Summertime is a great time to reflect on where you are at and where you are going. This week, we are thinking about what it takes to be a great leader. 

What we are reading...

Time travel for the solution. No really, not only do studies show it works, but top design agencies like Ideo use it. Basically, when people focus on the impermanence of a distressing event, such as a poor exam performance or a relationship breakup, they feel less upset about it and less worried that it will hound them in the future.

What we are contemplating... 

Do we ditch PowerPoint and write more memos? According to former Amazon exec, John Rossman, YES

Wait, what? But we love PowerPoint...

 

Rossman says we should ditch the long-beloved tool. In his book, Think Like Amazon, he explains the superpower of storytelling and how it has been a pivotal aspect of Amazon's success and ethos.
